Grifal is Sponsor of FOTOGRAFICA, the Festival of Photography in Bergamo

cArtù®, Grifal’s special corrugated cardboard, among the protagonists of the staging of this 3rd Edition of the Festival in splendid locations

The 3rd Edition of PHOTOGRAPHY, the Festival of Photography in Bergamo, explores the theme of the suburbs in a bold and visionary journey on “non-places”: ten exhibitions by great contemporary photographers (Basilico, Bulaj, Faraci, Ramazzotti, Diffident, Alessi, Podavini, Bispuri, Ducke, Rota) and a very rich calendar of workshops, special events, lectures and screenings.

Thirty days of photographic exhibitions in the beautiful setting of the former Daste and Spalenga power plant and the equally beautiful Carmine Monastery.

Architects Alberto Roscini, Marcella Datei, Ivan Rapanà and Federica Masone, who were involved in the design of the installations, declare:

“Few materials used with great wisdom by the companies that once again accompanied us in the set-up this year, including Grifal […], made it possible to build multiple opportunities to tell once again, in Bergamo, the many centers of our existence. In both Daste and Carmel Monastery, we intervened with measure and discretion through the use of precious furnishings and innovative materials which, with their sometimes wavy, sometimes reflective or opaque surfaces allowed us to emphasize the photos on display, trying never to overwhelm the places that host us.”

Festival director Daniela Sonzogni tells us:

“Fotografica intends to focus on a major topical issue through the shots of photographers who work to give us back timely insights; they get their hands dirty, they go beyond the boundaries so that their lens becomes the key for us to understand and not to say “I didn’t know.” Photography does not ask for permission and leaves no room for excuses. It makes us reflect on the need to take on new responsibilities. It is valuable testimony. The uncertainties of 2020 forced us to stop temporarily, but we continued working with the desire to give continuity to our association’s project: to tell the contemporary and the world around us through the universal language of photography. The program is extremely rich, the venues that will host the exhibitions are magnificent, and our partners express the enthusiasm that drives all of us.”
