mean?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The term &#8220;<strong>packaging<\/strong>&#8221; generically refers to the <strong>process of packing a product<\/strong><sup>.2<\/sup><br\/>Specifically, we refer to the set of <a href=\"\/?page_id=6300\">technological processes<\/a> related to the conditioning of goods in order to make them suitable:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>to factory handling<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>to storage<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>to transportation, anticipating the possible different means and stresses<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>To the use or consumption by the final customer<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The packaging industry includes <strong>various types of packaging<\/strong>, each designed for different uses and with its own peculiarities.<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In the first analysis, <strong>ensuring safe transportation-protecting the product<\/strong> from possible breakage or spoilage-is a key aspect because it preserves customer satisfaction <strong>by reducing returns and consequently costs for companies<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Second, the choice of <strong>filling material<\/strong> that fits inside the boxes to protect the goods must be taken with care and attention.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Primary functions of protective packaging<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A <strong>protective packaging<\/strong> to be functional must:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Protect the product<\/strong> from shock, vibration, compression and external agents (e.g., weather conditions) during transportation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Do not be oversized<\/strong> relative to the product.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Do not unduly affect the<\/strong> final <strong>cost of<\/strong> the product.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Promote the product<\/strong>: packaging communicates what it contains, can convey marketing messages, and allows product identification, including, for example, in terms of quantity, additives, how to use it, and expiration date.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To be 100 percent efficient, a package must be <strong>durable<\/strong> yet <strong>lightweight<\/strong> and easily <strong>transportable<\/strong>. <strong>Protective packaging<\/strong> can be made from a variety of materials, but these must be <strong>easily disposable<\/strong> and included in a <a href=\"\/?p=17237\">circular economy and eco-sustainability<\/a> framework.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The most popular fill materials<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the main filler materials best known in the packaging market, also referred to as &#8220;internals,&#8221; we can mention:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Polyethylene foam sheets<\/strong>: is a plastic material mainly used to protect and pack small and light-weight objects.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Wrapping paper<\/strong>: particularly good for filling empty spaces in boxes, especially with small and medium-sized non-fragile items.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Expanded polystyrene foam<\/strong>: is a ductile plastic material with low weight. It is molded for the protection of non-fragile objects.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Bubble plastic<\/strong>: suitable for packing small and medium-sized non-fragile products, especially heavy items.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Polyurethane foam<\/strong>: flexible, with shock-absorbing capacity. It is especially suitable for filling boxes with light products.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Combining all the properties that are useful for wrapping and separating products inside boxes with packaging that performs well and is environmentally friendly is not easy.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.grifal.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/vasto_mondo_imballaggi_cushionPaper_art_2020-1024x413.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-32603\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The real, environmentally sustainable alternative to any plastic material is <a href=\"\/?p=12376\">cushionPaper&#x2122;<\/a>, which can meet the market needs of a variety of sectors, from industrial components to<a href=\"\/?p=16238\">eCommerce<\/a> to home appliances:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>made of <strong>fully recyclable and disposable paper<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>arises from the need to <strong>protect<\/strong>, <strong>fill<\/strong>, <strong>lock<\/strong> and <strong>wrap<\/strong> objects<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fits any shape, weight and size<\/strong> of product or box<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>is a completely <strong>Made in Italy<\/strong> product<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the raw material used comes from <strong>responsibly and sustainably managed forests<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Toward increasingly environmentally sustainable packaging<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many consortia and <strong>packaging<\/strong> companies are trying to find materials and production methods that are less impactful on the environment.
