Over the past 10 years, the company has reinvested an average of 9 percent of production value each year in R&D. Thanks in part to this policy, Grifal has filed 21 patents and 3 production processes in 22 countries.

R&D
Research and Development projects contribute to the management and improvement of environmental impacts, which are monitored through the ISO 14001 system and reported in the Sustainability Report
Where applicable to individual products and processes, we use recycled orFSC®/PEFC™-certified raw materials, design packaging for diversion into recycling streams, and recover waste in accordance with monitored company procedures.
We monitor the use of resources from renewable sources and report on trends using the indicators in our Sustainability Report, but that’s not enough: we promote operational practices related to resource efficiency, waste recovery, raw material traceability, and ISO 14001-certified environmental management, and we collaborate with our customers’ R&D teams to develop packaging solutions that not only reduce the Total Cost of Ownership but also help promote the value of packaging solutions which, in cases covered by LCA analyses or PackInPro assessments, can be compared with alternative materials identified according to specified criteria, scope, and indicators
Our R&D focuses on 4 areas:
Development and implementation of a new technology applied to the corrugation of packaging materials
This R&D project involves the introduction of a new technology that allows cArtù® to be produced by avoiding paper polythreading, reducing:
- procurement time
- production costs
- production time
The strategy aims to establishcArtù® as the standard for 100% paper packaging. The new investment will make it possible to expand the product line and increase production capacity. In the double-wall corrugated cardboard packaging sector,cArtù® will be able to establish itself against:
- a better price-quantity ratio
- better technical performance
