Nearly a week after the official announcement was published, interest inGrifal’s acquisition of Cornelli Srl’s operations branch shows no sign of abating. The transaction involves the transfer of the business complex of Cornelli Srl, which covers the production and trade of corrugated boxes, as well as the design and implementation of new branding techniques applied to packaging.
The expected time frame is short. By March 2021, in fact, the transaction will see its closing. Grifal thus continues its intent at a fast pace: to focus on productions distinguished by the use of its own exclusive materials and its own design and testing expertise, while it will concentrate its traditional corrugated processing activities in the newco Cornelli Brand Packaging Experience.
The growth of environmentally sustainable packaging and interest in the press
The operation did not go unnoticed in numerous newspapers in the financial, manufacturing and news fields. A testament to the great interest of the press and public in Made in Italy companies that make innovation, sustainability and teamwork their great core values.
Green Packaging, in particular, is an area on which Grifal and Cornelli Srl will also demonstrate not only a commonality of views but also further fruitful collaboration. “Green packaging” is expanding:
- Increased awareness on the part of Consumers: circular economy, waste reduction;
- national and supranational governmental commitments: increasingly stringent taxation and regulation on other polluting materials, promotion of sustainable consumption practices;
- renewable and certified sources, lower energy consumption in the production process.
