cArtù®, Grifal’s new corrugated board, will protect the contents of the revolutionary Wave Bags
Shipping documents and small items will become increasingly sustainable thanks to Wave Bag, the new solution proposed by Offmar, a company that is active in the design, production and distribution of environmentally friendly protective packaging.
Looking forward, the more than 30 million pouches produced annually by the company will protect their contents with the new corrugated board cArtù® by Grifal. cArtù® is a technology patented by Grifal that creates a new corrugated product, made entirely of paper, that can effectively replace expanded plastics in protective packaging: it is indeed flexible, shock-absorbing and highly sustainable. Through this agreement, Wave Bags will be more secure, durable, and customizable than the contents to be shipped.

For some time now, both companies have been working to meet the sustainability challenge and eliminate plastic. Offmar, in the not too distant past, did away with polyethylene air bubbles, which after several uses diminished their protective capacity due to depletion of the bubble itself.
Grifal, with cArtù®, has reduced CO2 emissions and disposal issues: its environmental performance (35 Kg CO2 eq/m3) is significantly better than alternative packaging products made of both plastic and traditional corrugated cardboard. Carbon dioxide emissions to produce polystyrene (EPS) sheet are 2.4 times higher, while they are 2.8 times higher for LLDPE “L” profile and 3.5 times higher for LDPE sheet.
