“Theyear 2022 marked better corporate performance in environmental, social, and governance impact-our ESG efforts were recognized by the market and allowed us to enter the new ESG ITA Growth Index.”

Safety, training and youth: the social assets of Grifal Group.

The flagship products made by Grifal Group – cArtù® and cushionPaperTM – constitute innovative and sustainable packaging solutions through the use of paper and cardboard. In addition, as shown in the 2022 Sustainability Report, 98 percent of the waste created during the production process is recycled , and no water use is contemplated.

Not only that: the Grifal Group’s main production site in Cologno al Serio has been equipped with a 148 Kwh photovoltaic system that ensures a major supply of renewable energy.

Finally, to maintain high standards of energy efficiency, the Group has adopted monitoring solutions to analyze and improve consumption from year to year.

Thanks to principles of sustainability and a vision of a future that respects the environment and people ,” added President Gritti. the Grifal Group is continuing to grow: in 2022 we completed the expansion of the production site in Cologno al Serio, which has become an area of more than 6,000 square meters with new 4.0 production lines for cArtù® which today, thanks in part to the closing of an international agreement with Portugal’s leading corrugated company Gruppo José Neves, will also be distributed in Portugal and Spain. We face new challenges with management enriched by a new packaging area general manager, an HR director and a machinery area general manager.”

As of 12/31/22, the Grifal Group has 167 total employees mostly operating in Italy. Among them, 90 percent have a permanent contract and more than 75 percent are under 30 years old. Moreover, as the Sustainability Report points out, training activities-an average of 23 hours per employee, nearly 4,000 hours total-are central to the Group’s human resources policies and are outlined through specific paths, from new hires to specific specializations for production lines.

The training,” concluded Gritti. is also a key element in safeguarding occupational health and safety aspects: in 2022 we exceeded 850 total hours of in-depth training on these issues, a figure that together with a safe environment and machinery allowed us not to have to record serious accidents throughout the year, but only four minor accidents out of more than 323 thousand hours worked.”
