Consolidated revenues: +51% in the first half of 2022. Great market interest in the green production of cArtù®

Grifal Group’s consolidated revenues reached €18.6 million in the first half of 2022, an increase of more than 50 percent over the corresponding period in 2021. Same positive change also for Ebitda, +51%, amounting to €1.9 million.

The current historical period, with political and economic variables seemingly out of control, presents companies with new challenges. Against this backdrop, the Group is continually reassured in its development plans by the attention the market is showing toward its offering of environmentally sustainable packaging . Consolidated orders are growing steadily and at the end of August already accounted for 95 percent of revenues in the previous full year.

The comment of Fabio Gritti, CEO of Grifal Group

“Demand for environmentally sustainable products such as our cArtù® and cushionPaper™ has also grown significantly, as expected, in recent months. Despite complex problems arising from the international political situation, we expect significant growth in the second half of the year as well. During the year, we increased converting capacity with the start-up of two rotary die-cutting lines for cArtù®, one in Cologno al Serio and the second in Timisoara. We have accelerated the implementation of the expansion of the Cologno al Serio facility, which will go into operation in the first half of next year. We expect to concretize in the coming months the launch of at least one production partnership abroad and to kick off the expansion of the machine production area.”

For more environmentally friendly and economically sustainable production

Unlike traditional corrugated board production, which uses steam and energy-intensive drying tables, cArtù® production requires negligible amounts of energy that, even at current prices, impacts company accounts by only about 2 percent of sales. Features that have never been so topical and that add up to amazing performance in terms of cutting carbon dioxide. In fact, an independent Life Cycle Assessment study has shown that the production of cArtù® and cushionPaper™ generate up to 80 percent less CO2 than common packaging materials such as traditional corrugated cardboard and plastics.
